The practice
Meghna Atelier
Architecture practice, Dhaka · Gulshan, Dhaka
Meghna Atelier was founded in 2007 and has stayed at nine people on purpose. We take about six projects a year, which is fewer than we are asked for and roughly what we can draw properly.
We are interested in buildings that look better in year fifteen than in year one. That means brick and concrete and shade, and it means saying no to finishes that photograph well and fail in the monsoon.

Four ways to start

Full architectural service
Survey to handover. Concept, RAJUK approval, tender drawings, and someone from this office on site every week.

Interiors
Joinery drawn to the millimetre and specified by something a Dhaka carpenter can actually source.
- 03
Feasibility
What a plot will take, what it will cost and whether the brief fits. Three weeks, and sometimes the answer is do not buy it.
- 04
Design review
A second opinion on somebody else's set before it goes to tender.
