Fourteen years of Dhaka weddings. I do not paint a different face on you — I do the version of your own face that photographs beautifully and survives a fourteen-hour day.
Studio Noor, Dhanmondi
I am a bridal makeup artist in Dhanmondi. Most of my work is weddings, holud and engagement days, and I take a small number of editorial and portrait bookings.
A bride is photographed for fourteen hours in Dhaka heat, under flash, under fairy lights, and in daylight at the end of it. Makeup that only works in one of those is not finished work. So I test in all four before the day.
Full makeup and hair for the wedding day, including one touch-up visit during the reception.
4 hoursLighter, warmer, built to survive dancing and turmeric. Usually the day everyone enjoys most.
2 hoursWe find the look weeks ahead and photograph it in four kinds of light, so nothing is a surprise.
2 hoursFor mothers, sisters and friends of the bride. Booked in the same visit.
1 hourMagazine, lookbook and brand work, on location or in the studio.

My mother cried when she saw me, and she is not a woman who cries. I still looked like myself, just the best version.
