I am a consultant physician at Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital, and I keep a private chamber three evenings a week. Internal medicine means the problems that do not belong neatly to one organ — fever nobody can explain, tiredness, blood pressure that will not settle.
Most of my job is listening long enough to notice the thing that does not fit. The tests come after that, not before.
