We draw inmaterials first.

An architecture and engineering practice in Dhaka. Every project starts as a material study, not a floor plan — because what a building is made of decides most of what it can be.

How we work

The material decides the building

A plan can be drawn in an afternoon. What takes the time is deciding what the thing is made of, because that settles the span, the depth, the cost and how it looks in twenty years.

So we build the material study first and show it to you before there is a plan to argue about. It is a shorter argument, and it happens while changing our minds is still free.

What we do

Four things, all in-house

01

Architecture

Residential, commercial and institutional, from feasibility to as-built. We stay on the job until the last drawing matches what was actually poured.

02

Structural engineering

In-house, not subcontracted, so the frame and the form are argued out in the same room rather than across two invoices.

03

Facade & envelope

Shading, glazing and weathering studied against Dhaka's own sun and rain, not a European default in the software.

04

Site supervision

A named engineer on site through the build. The drawings are ours, so the mistakes are ours to catch.
